The Department trains students in the development, preparation, and safe use of medicines. Its programmes combine theoretical knowledge with practical laboratory training to equip graduates with skills in pharmaceutical analysis, drug formulation, quality control, and clinical pharmacy practice. Through teaching, research, and community service, the Department contributes to healthcare delivery, public health, and the advancement of pharmaceutical knowledge in Tanzania.
